We just added full-grain, vegetable-tanned leather to the Signature collection. Our RFID-blocking wallets are now available in this leather alongside our existing options, an addition to the lineup, not a replacement.

Why We Built This in Full-Grain Leather

Full-grain is the leather closest to its natural state: no sanding down the surface, no printed-on texture, just the hide as it is. The hide's natural fiber structure stays fully intact, which makes it naturally resistant to tearing and abrasion. It also develops a patina instead of wearing out, darkening and softening in the exact places you handle it most, so it looks better the longer you carry it. And because every mark, pore, and grain pattern comes from the actual hide, no two Signature wallets ever look identical.

Does Thicker Leather Affect RFID Blocking?

No. Leather, at any thickness, does not block RFID signals, it's not a shielding material. RFID protection in our wallets comes from a separate metallic shielding layer built into the card pockets, and that's what actually blocks the signal. The leather shell around it is purely structural and aesthetic, so moving to a thicker, heavier full-grain leather changes how the wallet feels and ages, but it has no effect on how well the RFID blocking works. Same protection, better material around it. (Read our blog to learn how to check if a wallet really has RFID protection.)

Why We Call It Signature

Signature isn't a different leather, it's a different way of working: slowing down on details most people won't consciously notice, but the people who care about this kind of thing will.

  • Every edge is burnished and sealed by hand instead of left raw, for a cleaner, more deliberate line around the whole wallet.
  • The hide itself is heavier, chosen for durability rather than weight: it costs more and lasts longer, ages well over years instead of fading in a couple of seasons, and "heavier" here describes the cut, not the finished wallet, so it doesn't sit bulkier in your pocket or feel noticeably heavier in your hand.
  • The logo personalization text embossing itself is unchanged, same marks, same places, but the detailing around it is far more precise: we now hand-emboss the outline of the wallet along the edge of every card slot, tracing the actual construction by hand instead of leaving it as a plain cut line.

Why These 6 Colors

Each of the six colors comes from a different way the vegetable-tanning process reacts to the hide. Cinnamon is the lightest of the six, a warm reddish-tan with the most visible grain texture, and Whiskey follows close behind with a warm amber-gold that softens and lightens further with wear. Walnut sits in the middle as a balanced, classic everyday brown, while Brandy runs a shade deeper with a warm reddish cast. Mahogany brings a richer, more saturated reddish-brown for a more formal look, and Chocolate Brown closes out the range as the darkest of the six, deep, dense, and tighter in grain.
